"The most responsible thing you can do with buying clothes is, number one, buy used clothes. The damage has been done in making them. That’s the most responsible thing." - Yvon Chouinard, founder of Patagonia.
Yvon Chouinard is one of the most inspiring businessmen who founded Patagonia in 1973. While I love his philosophy and Patagonia in general, I know I can't shop everything from Patagonia. When I get an itch or a need to shop for something new, I check out sustainable brands as well as used clothing sites like Vestiaire Collective and Tradesy.
Vestiaire Collective is my favorite site to browse for used luxury designer items. It's a peer to peer marketplace which means I am shopping directly from other super chic members from places like Italy and France. Because it's peer to peer, I can ask questions and negotiate price(!!!). Many items are from Europe, however, and returns are not easy. The shipping takes time as well, which reminds me that 1-2 day free shipping is not free at all!
Black is an essential color that gets a bad rap in Summer, but it certainly makes any outfit classic and chic. Mixed with navy fabrics, Jacquemus top and skirt would go perfectly with clean, black accessories with a hint of a gold.
